China News Network Beijing September 25 (reporter Du Yan) Today, the World Rose Theme Park located in Weshanzhuang Town, Daxing District, Beijing is officially awarded the "World Rose Famous Garden". It is the fourth park in China to receive the honor, following Shenzhen People's Park, Changzhou Bauhinia Park and Beijing Botanical Garden. The award was presented at the 18th World Rose Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark, on July 4 (Denmark time).
Located in Weishanzhuang Town, Daxing District, Beijing, the World Rose Theme Park is divided into more than ten characteristic theme parks. Walking through the Wuzhou Chinese Rose Garden, you can see more than 1,770 rose varieties from 15 countries, including the United States, Germany and Britain. Cabbage flower type "Broadcast age" from the UK, France's "Princess of Monaco" petal edge has gradual pink halo, from Japan's "turn blue" is the garden blue purple rose in the most "blue" variety... The world's first Chinese Rose museum is located in the world Rose theme Park. The furnishings section of the Rose Museum is divided into eight thematic sections: history, science, culture, world, characters, gardens, life and outlook. Echoing the Chinese Rose Museum, the Rose Theme Park also has themed exhibition areas in more than 30 cities and regions.
At the awarding ceremony of "World Rose Garden" held today, Mr. Kevin Trimp, former president of the World Rose Federation, presented the award to Vice President of Daxing District People's Government of Beijing and Party Secretary of Weizhanzhuang Town. Since then, the World Rose Theme Garden officially got a new business card.
It is understood that the selection of the world outstanding rose garden began in 1995, every three years once, the candidates must be nominated by the national Rose Association, and invite more than two members of the World Rose Federation on-site inspection, scoring and nomination, in order to obtain the eligibility for election. Nominated Rose gardens need to submit pictures, promotional videos and other application materials to the award committee. The award committee will vote at the annual World Rose Congress every three years, and those who get enough votes will be awarded the honor of "World Outstanding Rose Garden".
Officials of Weishanzhuang Town said that as the core venue of the 2016 World Rose Intercontinental Congress, Weishanzhuang Town has successfully transformed from a traditional agricultural town with primary industry to a characteristic rose town with 2,300 rose varieties in an industrial park of more than 5,000 mu. In the future, we will seize the development opportunities of national characteristic town, cultural axis, Daxing International Airport Airport Economic Zone and Yiheyi Road, build the South central axis cultural belt, and build the airport high-end service carrier area and the gateway business district.
