As a key part of Beijing Design Week, this year's design fair has the theme of "Tribute to life", with designs covering clothing, food, housing, transportation and use.

In the design exhibition area under the theme of revitalization of traditional Chinese crafts, designer Shi Dayu, who has won the German Red Dot Design Award, brought the latest bamboo chair series designed this year. One of the bamboo chairs, called the Armchair, has a fancy "brake" device under the seat. According to Seok, the "weight brake mechanism," inspired by the car disc brake, can be fully clamps under the combined effects of gravity and friction, thus fixing the recliner's Angle so that the recliner does not move up or down.
In the exhibition area of new species design, startup team Dusky combined familiar LED lights and electric fans to create a "holographic display screen" that can produce a 3D effect with naked eyes. According to the staff, more than 100 small LED beads are distributed on each fan, and the device itself is a processor, which can be turned at high speed to "play" patterns set in advance. This design is more cost-effective and smaller and more flexible than other holographic technologies.
The exhibition runs until September 25. In addition to displaying various innovative works combining design with traditional techniques and new technologies, the expo will also set up a platform for exchanges and cooperation between innovative enterprises and designers. (finish)
